Twisted Maple-Oren Robinson & April Reed-Cox
May 29 @ 7:00 pm - 8:15 pm
Twisted Maple is Oren Robinson and April Reed-Cox.
Oren is a music teacher and singer who has a folkie soul. He plays guitar, but occasionally he’ll pull some random instrument out of his collection. April Reed-Cox has been playing cello for over a quarter century, and she holds a Masters degree in Music Performance. Over the past couple of years she has added the Baritone ukulele and the Tenor banjo to her instrumental repertoire.
Oren and April have been the house band for many years on the Early Evening Show, a comedic Maine-based variety show, and have shared the stage with Carole Noonan, Tricky Britches, Molly Gawler and more. Due to the quarantine of COVID-19 they have been able to focus on this duo project, and to develop a subtle and intuitive delivery style for their heartfelt and honest songs.
Oren and April live in a home that they built from lumber that they milled on their Thomas Bandsaw Mill. They have a small-scale fiber farm, endeavor to grow as much of their own food as possible, and a jar of canned tomatoes or experimental garlic scape pesto is not an uncommon gift from these two.
