Summer Free Waterfront Concert Series:

Each summer, Johnson Hall brings live music to Gardiner’s Waterfront Park, offering free Friday evening concerts featuring a lively lineup of local and regional bands—from blues and rock to indie and Celtic-inspired tunes. The 2025 series included acts like Pat Pepin & The Boneheads, The Midnight Riders, J.A.R.D, and Bailey’s Mistake, creating a festive community atmosphere with food vendors and family-friendly activities along the Kennebec River.

Johnson Hall Opera House in downtown Gardiner, Maine is a historic and vibrant performing arts center that has been delighting audiences since 1864. Following a $9.1 million renovation, Johnson Hall now boasts a 407-seat theater, equipped with an upper balcony and raked seating to enhance sightlines. One of the venue’s highlights is its outstanding acoustics, supported by state-of-the-art sound, lighting, and projection technology.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Johnson Hall presents year-round programming including live music, theater, comedy, dance, film, and community events in a beautifully restored setting that blends historic charm with modern amenities.
