Johnson
Hall Studio (performance and meeting space) is on the first
floor and is accessible.
From the South:
North on 295
Take exit 49
Bear right off exit ramp. You are on Rt. 201.
This becomes Brunswick Ave. as you come into the City of Gardiner
(about 5 mi. from exit).
Continue on Brunswick Ave., drive around the Gardiner Common
(keeping the park on your right). Road forks—take left
fork down the hill (still Brunswick Ave.).
At light (Post Office on right) take right onto Water Street
(one way).
Johnson Hall is in the middle of the block on the right, just
before Johnson Hall pocket park.
From the North:
South on Me Turnpike
Take exit #103 for Rte I-295toward Brunswick/Gardiner
Immediately after toll booth (use far right toll lane), take
exit 51 to Gardiner
At top of ramp, turn left onto Rt. 126
Stay on 126 (pass Middle School and go over small bridge)
into town (about 4 mi.). This becomes Water Street (one way).
At light (Key Bank on right, Post Office on opposite right
corner) go straight on Water Street.
Johnson Hall is in the middle of the block on the right, just
before Johnson Hall pocket park.
From
Augusta:
Drive past State House and continue south through Hallowell
and Farmingdale.
At light in Gardiner, bear right past Rite Aid on hill to
right. This is Bridge Street.
Cross Bridge, pass A-1 Diner.
Turn left at light (Post Office on opposite corner) onto Water
Street (one way).
Johnson Hall is in the middle of the block on the right, just
before Johnson Hall pocket park.
Parking
1.On street, 2-hour zones on Water Street
(including 2 handicapped slots) unlimited after 6pm
and behind Johnson Hall on Mechanic Street (turn right at
light past JH and then first right onto Mechanic)
from Mechanic, walk down through pocket park next to JH to
get to Water Street.
2.Arcade Parking Lot: Continue past Johnson
Hall to next light. Turn left onto Maine Ave.
Turn left again after Harvey’s Hardware (Cobbossee Stream
is now on your right).
Parking lot straight ahead is free all day. You are behind
the row of stores on Water Street.
Two ways to get up to Water St and Johnson Hall:
Tunnel and steps labeled “Arcade” (JH is across
Water Street on your right)
Pocket park (McKay Park) with steps (JH is across Water Street
on your left)
